Aspendale to Bonbeach

Today we are going to let you in on a secret and share with you our home turf. We might be biased, but this stretch of beach from Aspendale to Bonbeach is easily our favourite in Melbourne. The beach here runs uninterrupted for ~ 7 km from the river at Mordialloc to the river at Carrum.

For the majority of the year you will find this beach to be a quiet paradise. The wide-open beaches are spacious with plenty of room for running around.

The long beach provide excellent conditions for romping with friends...

...for ball-chasing ...

...and for swimming (in summer at least!)

There are many dog-friendly cafes in the area that we frequent - we can particularly recommend The Little French Deli in Bonbeach, which has a dog-friendly courtyard out the back and delicious pastries.

If you decide to visit make sure you check the local council rules. In summer (Nov-Mar) off-leash hours are before 10am, with dogs banned on the beach from 10am-7:30pm and allowed on-leash after 7:30pm. The hours are better from April-Oct, when dogs must be on-leash 11am-3pm, but can be off-leash the rest of the time.

This stretch of beach is also a great spot for sitting back and watching the sunset.
